We’re excited to announce that FarmHero — a cross chain DEFI protocol that combines yield farming, NFT and gaming — has integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on the Polygon mainnet. By integrating Chainlink’s industry-leading decentralized oracle network, we now have access to a tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness needed to fairly distribute Rare NFTs via the FarmHero Loot Boxes. Ultimately this creates a more exciting, transparent, and fraud-proof user experience, as users can redeem the FarmHero Loot Boxes without worrying whether the prize is manipulated or not.
FarmHero is a novel cross-chain DEFI protocol that mixes yield farming, NFT and gaming together. It aims to provide fun, profitable experience to the DEFI world. The users can earn profits while having fun on FarmHero according to their risk appetite in several different approaches. Users can join the yield farm and earn free HERO token, which can be sold or to redeem the Loot Boxes to get rare NFTs.
On FarmHero, the NFTs mean more than an art piece of aesthetic value, it can be used to farm HERO tokens as well. The rarer the NFT is, the more powerful it is when farming in the NFT farm. Also, FarmHero provides several games for the community to play with each other, like the auction and fomo games.FarmHero’s next Loot Box series
In order to provide a fair distribution of the prize via the FarmHero Loot Box, we need access to a secure random number generator (RNG) that any user could independently audit. However, RNG solutions for smart contracts require several security considerations to prevent manipulation and ensure system integrity. For instance, RNG solutions using on-chain data like block hashes can be exploited by blockchain miners, while off-chain RNG solutions like traditional data providers are opaque and don’t provide users with definitive proof about the integrity of the process.
After reviewing various solutions, we selected Chainlin...
