We are excited to announce the integration of Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) into the Citizen Finance ecosystem. We are leveraging Chainlink VRF to help power randomly generated NFTs on the Sante Fe platform, with plans to expand the integration to Metalands, a blockchain-enabled FPS game.
Citizen Finance is a multi-chain ecosystem with the goal of providing NFT-based utilities in gaming, art, and decentralized finance (DeFi). By integrating Chainlink VRF, we are further committing to the core foundations of blockchain technology: transparency and fairness.
Chainlink VRF is being integrated into our multi-chain platform in two (2) phases:
Phase One (1); Santa Fe Integration
The early stage of the Chainlink VRF integration is live on Santa Fe — a DeFi and NFT gamification platform. Chainlink VRF helps ensure random NFT mints for NFT staking and blindbox gamification are tamper-proof and unbiased for all participants.
Phase Two (2); Metalands Integration
Metalands, a blockchain-enabled first-person shooter (FPS) game, will also integrate Chainlink VRF to support our loot box and airdrop mechanism. Players will be incentivized with random NFTs based on their activities, creating a more fun and entropic gameplay experience for users.
Why We Chose Chainlink VRF
After reviewing various solutions, we selected Chainlink VRF because it’s based on cutting-edge academic research, supported by time-tested oracle infrastructure, and secured through the generation and on-chain verification of cryptographic proofs that prove the integrity of each random number supplied to smart contracts.
Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The Santa Fe smart contracts will only accept ...
