I have a quick question about the effects of regulation on Ripple’s platform.
If I understand this correctly, Ripple has designed a fantastic network that allows banks to transfer money between one another like never before. Due to its speed and transparency it seems to be far superior than current systems (specifically SWIFT).
My question is how susceptible is a bank’s use of the network to foreign regulation?
For example, in 2012 the U.S. pressured SWIFT into banning Iran from its payment system. Is Ripple able to do this too, or does the decentralizes aspect of it limit Ripple’s control over who uses it? Essentially, Is Ripple able to cut people out of its network, or is it entirely up to the banks that use the ripple platform?
