Kind of a dumb idea, but might work.
For any with the powers to make flairs I suggest that you make a flair that basically says “I will not open any dms” or something along those lines, and have it set that you must have a flair. When a new person try’s to make a post they will have to see it, and that itself is already a warning to how serious it is if you a subreddit has to make a special flair about it. On top of that it will make scammers waste their time when trying to dm you. Also sorry for bad formatting I’m half asleep as I write about this.😅
