Will existing KT addresses be supported indefinitely?

I heard that after the Babylon update, we should no longer create a KT address for delegation, and we should instead use the TZ1 address directly. However, if we already have a KT address we are delegating from, will this be supported indefinitely? Or will KT addresses become deprecated and non-functional for staking after some time? If so, is there any danger of losing our XTZ if it is in a KT address?
