Hello Everyone. I feel like such an idiot, but I just got caught up in the Tezos Deep Baking Scam. It just came out today so beware.
You will get a very convincing looking email from Noelle Acheson, one of the authors of Coindesk talking about a new Deep Baking Feature on Tezos.
The link in the email takes you to a very convincing looking clone of the tezos foundation website (I won't put the url here for fear of sending more people there). The website is a clone of the real tezos foundation website and actually has cloned articles of some actual recent announcements.
From there, you are taken to a fake Tezos wallet website where you are asked to create a wallet. I put a small amount of Tezos in the wallet and signed up for "Deep Baking", which emptied the wallet.
I know I am the idiot here, and there is nothing I can do. I just want to warn others. Perhaps you won't make the same mistake I did.
Of course, after my wallet was emptied, and I discovered the error, I found information on the real Tezos about these websites that are impersonating the foundation.
(Funny enough the fake Tezos website has the same warnings about the real Tezos foundation website.).
Go ahead and roast me. I deserve it. But, I don't want these scammers to make another penny so please beware.
