Ponzi Scheme

Sorry to ask this question but ... Can someone explain to me how the DeFi is not a huge ponzi scheme? The reward system based on the number of people with tokens reminds me of network marketing. The principle of decentralized finance intrigues me and I would like to know more about the reward system. Thank you !
