It's a common practice to buy hardrives and create local storage for owned media. Unfortunately that storage is susceptible to damage and so backup is necessary. If the data had been stored on storj then it would have been near invincible.
The question is whether storj payouts could match a 3 TB homemedia installation (maybe tailored towards storj farming in some way) that acts as 1/2 storj nodes, while also paying for storage for all of your stored media/backups up to 3 TB of storage. If you were able to break even and have all of your data stored on the cloud that would be an amazing way to draw in potential users.
