Litecoin awoke from its slumber on Thursday morning, rallying to a daily high of $59.92 on Asian exchange Bitfinex, after two major companies in the cryptocurrency space - Coinbase, the largest exchange in the US, and Bitcoin ATM manufacturer, General Byes - made surprise announcements.
On their blog, Coinbase said US clients can now buy $25,000 worth of cryptocurency instantly with their linked bank accounts, "Previously, customers who purchased using a bank account had to wait several days before receiving their digital currency.," said a representative of the exchange.
The new option applies to Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum transactions!
Czech Republic-based ATM manufacturer General Bytes also boosted the price of Litecoin when they announced on Twitter that 2-way Litecoin transactions are now enabled on all their Bitcoin ATM models. Previously, General Bytes machines only allowed 1-way Litecoin transactions.
I think the General Bytes announcement is even more significant as the company said last month it has sold 700 ATMs in total, with the last one going to Russia:"GENERAL BYTES just sold the 700th Bitcoin ATM today! The 700th ATM will ship to Russia where GENERAL BYTES will be one of the first cryptocurrency ATM brands in the country!"
To put this announcement more into perspective, according to coinATMradar.com figures, General Bytes currently holds almost 25% of the Bitcoin ATM market!Original article by @Techwizardry, follow me for the latest crypto technical analysis and market news!
