Spam solution concern: sending dust amounts of Nano to hurt legitimate accounts
I’m excited to see Nano working on spam. This was always one of my concerns. I had a thought and wanted hear what others think.
I noticed that transactions will be prioritized on “most recently used”. I assume most recently used is a send *or* a receive. That makes sense to me because if it was just “most recently sent” a spammer could just send their balance from new account to new account, none of which had sent yet.
The challenge I’m wondering about is that receiving isn’t something that you as a user control. Anyone can chose to send you Nano. I’m wondering if this opens up an attack where spammers send dust amounts of Nano to legitimate accounts, thereby marking them as “recently used” and perhaps thereby thwarting the prioritization system. Is this a viable attack?
