Worst case scenario, SHTF, planning for Monero

Often when we discuss Monero’s vulnerabilities it’s technical vulnerabilities pertaining to certain aspects of the protocol or network.

What if the core contributors and maintainers are compromised? What about the maintainers and contributors to major Monero ecosystem projects (wallets, exchanges, etc).

I realize the protocol is open sourced and mining is fairly decentralized but are there any other human vulnerabilities that we may be overlooking? Because those are easier to attack than the protocol in all seriousness.

Let me know what your thoughts are. I’m curious if any other cypherpunk projects have ever had nation state actors conspiring against them and if so what the results were. I believe that a systems robustness and anti fragility has to be intentionally designed and Monero has, and will continue to have, a large target on its back.
