The date of the next Monero network upgrade has been set: October 17th
During the last dev meeting was approved **October 17th** as the date for the next network upgrade. The software necessary to be part of the upgrade will be released one month before: September 17th.
Network upgrades are hard forks and require all members of the ecosystem to upgrade to the newest version of the Monero software (which, as said above, will be release September 17th) or they will find themselves outside the Monero network (forked away).
This network upgrade will introduce, along with other improvements, CLSAG, which is compact signature scheme that will further **reduce transaction size by ~25%** as well as **improve verification performance by ~20%**. A detailed list of changes will be released along with the software needed to be part of the upgrade.
