Cryptocurrencies and Surveillance Coins

I'm tired of Monero getting called a 'Privacy Coin', differentiating it from other so-called 'Cryptocurencies' as if privacy is an afterthought, to be considered as an option, on par with the bells and whistles from the altcoin du jour. Monero is not a privacy coin. Monero is a Cryptocurrency. As a community, we need to flip the script - we need to make it abundantly clear that any coin without privacy preserving properties is a surveillance coin. Make it a point to comment in cryptocurrency subreddits and chats about whether people hold cryptocurrencies, or whether their bags just contain surveillance coins. With a bit of effort (and a significant amount of luck), perhaps we can change the narrative.
