Moving from harmony one wallet to metamask

So apparently there is no more support for the harmony wallet I've been using and I have to move my ONE over to metamask. Thing is, I have some ONE at stake. Do I have to unstake to move it to metamask? Also I'm wondering how this works since my harmony wallet is connected to my ledger. Do I need to get it off my ledger before I can get it to metamask? I'm a real noob in these things, so I appreciate any help I can get, thanks :) EDIT: Would it be possible to just have it on the ledger and to not use metamask at all?
