Tax Question: My mom has an account under her name, but the login email was my email. Is she still considered the owner of the account, even if the login was my email address?
Basically, I helped my mom set up her Gemini account. It is linked to her bank account and it is under her name. She used her drivers license to verify her identity. It is also connected to her mobile number. However, because she’s not the most tech savvy person, I made the login username one of my email addresses so I could easily access the account for her. I know this is probably a stupid question, but for tax purposes, is it considered her account and the gain/loss needs to be reported on her tax return? I just want to make sure I didn’t make a mistake by putting my email address as the login username. Also, I have my own separate account. I just help her with managing hers.
