Implications of crackdown on staking in the US?

I'm sitting here thinking about the crackdown on staking in the US... I have ETH staked in Coinbase, and I'm wondering if I should convert to the cbETH, swap it for another token of some kind, (maybe back to regular ETH if possible?) to avoid it being seized or something by the SEC. Am I being paranoid? Its nice to get the staking rewards in Coinbase, but I'd rather not run the risk of losing it altogether.
