For a reward system that is based on a token, which ERC token type is to use?

Hi, I am currently working on a personal fun project to learn about blockchain development.

I am using ERC-20 to have a token that is used as a reward token in case a user did a purchase on my website. Is ERC-20 good for that? or should I use another ERC type? I am using the polygon network since it is cheaper.
