Using Starport to Create a CryptoToken Economy in a Public High School
I'm a public high school teacher in the USA. I've been seriously contemplating using Starport to mint a unique token for my high school that can be used for incentives in school. I'm thinking everything from discounts on school store goods and dance/event tickets to purchasing privileges, to partnering with local businesses to accept the token for discounts on their goods/services for students. Students could earn the token in return for grades, attendance, behavior, or volunteering.
What disadvantages/challenges do you foresee with this? Correct me if I'm wrong, but students will need to have ATOM in their wallet to transact my token, right? That's definitely a problem for us. We can't ask students to go to an exchange and buy ATOM. If that's true, does anyone know of a workaround? Ideas?
