Can someone outline both sides of the argument regarding PoS and its future security as DApps become more prominent on Cardano?
I've seen the argument tossed around that Cardano will need to depend on a PoW crypto in the future as smart contracts, DApps, and altcoins are built on the Cardano platform. The usual progression I see here is that as it becomes more lucrative to have your ADA moving around (as velocity of money increases), the less ADA will be staked. As the staked amount of ADA drops, the security of the network drops.
Is this bullshit? I ask because from what I can gather, reading IOHK's papers, it seems like they put *a lot* of work into thinking this out, and still believe that PoS is the route to take.
