4.6% is not the real rate of return

The real rate of return is the rate of return after adjusting for inflation. 4.6% is the rate of increase in supply (inflation). After adjusting for this, the rate of return will be earned solely from transaction fees. The return earned from the increase in supply will dilute each unit of ADA's value. The increase in supply will be a net zero to stakers. A higher return will lead to more downward price pressure and vice versa. This is different from POW systems where the miners don't actually have to own the coins for any length of time. This is why the rate of increase in supply should maximize both network usage and security. Has this been done? How was the rate of increase decided? Edit: Corrected POS to POW
