Is it ironic to store a cold storage wallet in a safety deposit box?

I want to get my crypto off the exchange and into a cold storage wallet. I've heard it time and time again. Not your keys, not your crypto. The problem is I live a transient lifestyle in a van and I just don't feel confident holding a physical wallet. Would storing it in a safety deposit box just be moving the problem of not owning the crypto from the exchange to the bank or is there some validity to doing this? Just interested in thoughts on this.
