How to get bitcoin when card are blocked and p2p platforms are illegal in one’s own country

Hello all, I live in a country which is so infatuated with banks that they’ve not only blocked cards from purchasing crypto on exchange platforms but they’ve gone a step further by banning p2p platforms altogether. Now without getting too far ahead of myself and this text transposes to a rant rather than a call for advice, could anyone help with this situation? I’ve attempted asking my friends from other countries to buy me btc and transfer it to my wallet but - in their words - the process is too convoluted. Thank you guys in advance!
