EBay, an e-commerce firm, announced that it is considering enabling Bitcoin payments on the platform.
eBay is preparing to accept Bitcoin as payment and exploring NFT’s, says company CEO
As reported by Reuters on Monday (3), the information was provided by eBay’s CEO, Jamie Iannone, during an interview with CNBC.
In addition, Jamie Iannone commented that the e-commerce giant is looking for ways to enter the non-fungible token market, the NFTs.
The statement was made while Iannone talked about eBay considering new payment methods.
During the interview given to CNBC, whose replay was not available at the time of writing this article, Iannone said that cryptocurrencies are being considered.
Thus, once the plural is used, it is possible that options other than Bitcoin are available.
In addition, Iannone also commented on eBay’s interest in venturing into the NFT universe.
If eBay decides to go ahead with its plans to accept cryptocurrencies, it will join the list of companies like Square, Tesla and PayPal.
However, until then, no further details on the plan were given. It is possible that, now with greater clarity about cryptocurrencies, eBay will finally embrace cryptocurrencies.Tagged with: bitcoin, blockchain, business, crypto, cryptocurrencies, cryptocurrency, ebay, ecommerce, NFT, tech, technology
