Block times will be the demise of BTC
Back in 2009 it was revolutionary to make payments using digital cash like bitcoin- even with long finality. However in an era of rapidly contracting attention spans, a 10-minute block time (which very often extends to 30+ mins) is positively archaic. By 2025, I don’t imagine the new generation will adopt anything this slow. I have been drawn many times to the fundamentals of bitcoin, only to be repelled away by the excruciatingly slow transaction time. It doesn’t feel futuristic, it feels like I’m back in the 80s. Many around me have quit bitcoin based on the same issues. Btc needs to get faster or die.
