I have a contractor wants me to pay them in BTC. This is for a business, but I have no idea how to go about setting up a business account with any of the major companies that host wallets or provide custodial services.
What's the right way to do this?
I noticed Coinbase, Gemini, and Kraken have business accounts, but both are intended for institutional trading rather than simple transfers.
Yes, I know this is not "ideal" from a crypto purists perspective. Personally, I use Wasabi, but for these business transactions, I need something far simpler:
1. We don't need for these transactions to be private. In fact, we need to report them to a client as expenses, so I prefer a receipt from a registered company.
2. I don't even need a wallet. If there was a service where USD goes in and BTC goes out, and I get a receipt I'd be all over it.
3. Dealing with wallets is a ***huge*** liability. I've lost a wallet before, and I don't trust my partners to figure out how they work. It's not worth the risk when I do not plan to hold coins.
4. It will look far less shady if we used an established company. Sucks, I know, but that's how the world works.
So where can I set up an account to send BTC from a business? I'm looking for something similar to a business account you can set up with a bank or credit card company.
