Welcome Anne Smith to the IOTA Foundation

Anne Smith is a Senior Project Manager with an extensive background in Software and Hardware Quality Management. She has managed international projects and technical teams in the US, Finland, China, India, Netherlands, UK, and Germany.

After graduating from the University of California Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s in Mathematics, Anne started her career in Silicon Valley as a TCP/IP stack QA engineer at TGV (Two Guys and a VAX). She has held roles of increasing complexity and responsibility, in tiny startups to tech giants such as Cisco, Apple, and Nokia, with a focus on IP Security and Networking/Communications.

In addition to consulting, Anne’s most recent role was Director of Quality Management at Snom Technology/VTech, where she assisted in performing quality audits on the factory floor. There she experienced first-hand the problems with efficiency, waste, and trust that could all be solved with a successful smart-factory DLT implementation that utilizes IOTA’s Tangle technology.

When not at work, Anne enjoys bicycle riding, reading sci-fi, and rolling for initiative.

On joining IOTA Given the intrinsic limitations of traditional blockchain technology, I’ve been skeptical about implementing the technology in real-world IoT scenarios. As soon as I learned about IOTA and how it is feeless, highly scalable, and requires minimal resources to process, it became instantly clear to me that this was the right solution for enabling the technologies that will bring us into the future. I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I am utterly thrilled to be joining the IOTA team, where I will be working as a Senior Project and Partner Relationship Manager in the Mobility & Automotive space. I am looking forward to engaging with current and future partners, as well as the community, to develop projects that showcase the capabilities of IOTA and make IOTA a global standard.
