**Lars Brünjes, PhD, Director of Education IOHK**
Lars Brünjes holds a PhD in pure mathematics from the University of Regensburg in Germany.
After a postdoctoral year at the University of Cambridge in the UK and several years of research and teaching at Regensburg, he spent a decade working as a lead software architect on mathematical optimization software and web applications for an international IT company.
Lars lives in Regensburg and spent many months in India working with development teams. He is passionate about functional programming in general and Haskell in particular.
**Duncan Coutts - Director of Engineering IOHK**
